Han Wa Hu Teapot “Blooming Sakura”
| Kind: | See "description" tab |
The teapot is crafted from Hei Zhu Ni Yixing clay, highly valued for its dense structure and its ability to subtly enhance the character and aroma of tea. The classic Han Wa Hu form (“Han Dynasty Roof Tile”) reflects the aesthetics of the Han era — restrained, balanced, and functional, a shape refined through centuries of Chinese tea tradition.
With a capacity of 130 ml, the teapot is ideally suited for gongfu tea brewing, encouraging a mindful and unhurried infusion process. The pot bears the maker’s seals beneath the lid and on the handle, attesting to its handcrafted origin. The built-in strainer is shaped like a birdcage, ensuring a clean and even pour.
The surface is adorned with delicate cherry blossoms, a symbol of life’s transience and fragility, refined beauty, renewal, hope, and new beginnings. This imagery serves as a reminder to appreciate each passing moment.
A distinctive highlight of the piece is its thermoreactive decoration: as the teapot warms, the cherry blossoms become more vivid and change in tone, creating a sense of living interaction between the vessel and the tea ritual. This subtle transformation adds elegance, a touch of enchantment, and a unique atmosphere to every tea session.
