Gaba "Basalt"
Gaba Oolong "Basalt" is a rare oolong tea from the volcanic slopes of Yunnan, harvested in the highlands around Tengchong. The pure mountain air, mineral-rich soil, and mild climate give this tea a remarkable depth of flavor and aroma.
Only carefully selected raw material is used: medium-sized leaves, tender buds, and a small number of stems. This balanced composition results in a rich, well-rounded infusion with a soft texture and expressive finish.
The tea is made from the Qingxin (青心) cultivar — a classic and highly regarded variety in Taiwanese oolong tradition, known for its fragrant, full-bodied brews and smooth, mellow character.
Aroma
Once brewed, the tea reveals a warm and layered aroma: notes of dried fruit and caramel blend with hints of freshly baked bread crust and a delicate smokiness. The bouquet evolves gradually, cup by cup.
Taste
The flavor profile is complex and refined — fruity sweetness, soft caramel undertones, a gentle tartness reminiscent of green apple, and a subtle minerality typical of teas grown in volcanic soil. The GABA processing lends a silky, well-integrated structure and a deep, soothing finish.
Effect
Gaba Oolong "Basalt" gently relaxes and brings a sense of inner calm. Ideal for evening tea sessions, meditative moments, or quiet time alone.
Ingredients: oolong tea (partially fermented).
